1. The short version
We built SaveOnYourTab to help you save money at the bars and restaurants you already love — not to sell your data. We collect the minimum information needed to make the app work, we never sell your personal information, and you can request deletion at any time.
2. Information we collect
To deliver the SaveOnYourTab experience, we collect a few categories of information:

Account information — your name, email address, phone number, and password (encrypted) when you create an account.

Location data — approximate or precise location, only when the app is open and only to surface deals near you. You can disable this in your device settings at any time.

Usage data — which deals you view, claim, and redeem, so we can improve recommendations and measure venue performance.

Device information — device type, operating system, and a unique app identifier used for crash reporting and security.

Communications — messages you send to our support team and feedback you submit through the app.
3. Information we do not collect
We want to be just as clear about what we don't touch:

Payment details — you pay your tab directly to the venue. SaveOnYourTab never sees or stores your credit card number.

Banking information — we don't process your transactions or access your bank account.

Background location — we don't track your location when the app is closed.

Contacts, photos, or microphone — unless you explicitly opt in to a feature that requires them.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Show you live deals at venues near your current location.
- Reserve and track deals you've claimed so the venue can apply your discount.
- Send you transactional notifications (claimed deals, expiring offers, account confirmations).
- Send marketing communications you've opted into — you can unsubscribe any time.
- Provide aggregated, anonymized analytics to venue partners (e.g., "47 patrons claimed this deal between 5–7pm").
- Detect fraud, abuse, and protect the integrity of our platform.
- Comply with legal obligations.
5. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. Period. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

With venues — when you redeem a deal, we share the redemption code and aggregate data so they can honor your discount. We do not share your contact information with venues unless you explicitly opt in.

With service providers — trusted vendors who help us run the platform (cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery). They are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

For legal reasons — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SaveOnYourTab, our users, or the public.

In a business transfer — if SaveOnYourTab is acquired or merges with another company, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We'll notify you in advance.
6. Cookies & similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep you signed in, measure traffic, and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling them may break certain site features.
7. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we're required by law to retain it (for example, financial records venues need for tax purposes).
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your account and personal information.
- Export a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.

9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information — encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, regular security audits, and limited internal access on a need-to-know basis. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.
10. Children's privacy
SaveOnYourTab is intended for users 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
11. International users
SaveOnYourTab is operated from the United States. If you access the app from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your home country.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
